First chance to use the 7.3m Ram on the Hawk 123Ltd, and managed to get to the beach just as it dropped.
VFW Mark had been out on his 120 Z-Ride & 7.5m Severne and was whizzing about fine ... and then I saw him start to bog a bit off the plane .... typical.
Regardless, rigged up the 7.3m Ram and plugged it into the Hawk just in case .... good decision as it filled in a touch so slipped into a shortie and went for it.
Kinda went too early, as not enough to plane ... so took some time to aquaint myself with the combo in non planing mode and picked off the gusts as and when I could.
Thankfully it filled in a touch and I was planing a bit more readily.
Board felt good with the rig, and I'm sure that they'll make a great combo over coming months.
Nice to catch up with an old mate I'd not seen for ages on the beach too, though I did initially head over to politely suggest he took his fishing a beach or two upwind instead of setting up where we were launching & landing, to stay out of our way and so we didn't scare off all those fish he'd be otherwise catching ;-)
Fun in the sun, but another 4-5mph wind speed would have been nice
